History of Land Rover

Being second oldest four-wheel drive, Land Rover may have been influenced by the idea and design of the Jeep. Maurice Wilks, chief designer of the Rover Company originally designed the first Land Rover with a color from a military concept and had a steering wheel in the middle. Rover Company was absorbed the British Leyland Motor Corporation (BL). However, controversies and troubles arose in BL that had led to a standalone Land Rover Company by 1978. BL ended divided that led to the purchase of Land Rover by Ford Motor Company. In 2008, Tata Motors purchased Land Rover and Jaguar from Ford and has been its manufacturer since then.

The Land Rover produced its first ever monster truck that could be driven in the deepest muds and has been a name in off-road challenges. Land Rovers were also used for British Military Purposes. Its flagship model is the Range Roverthat exhibited in Louvre, Paris because of its exemplary design and has become a luxury car nowadays.
